Senior Security Manager (National Position) - Burkina Faso

Position Summary

Globfield International is seeking a highly qualified Senior Security Manager to support the implementation of the United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) McGovern-Dole International Food for Education and Child Nutrition Program. The Senior Security Manager will provide strategic leadership, operational oversight, and risk mitigation strategies to ensure personnel, assets, and operations safety and security across all project sites. This role will assess security risks, implement response protocols, and facilitate engagement with governmental institutions, local organizations, and community leaders to maintain a secure operating environment over a 60-month project duration with an anticipated budget of $25 million.

Additionally, the Senior Security Manager will provide written weekly or bi-weekly security updates to the State Department and the U.S. Embassy, ensuring timely reporting of security developments, risk assessments, and mitigation strategies. The manager will lead security audits, coordinate incident response measures, and oversee compliance with national security regulations, donor requirements, and organizational policies. The Senior Security Manager will ensure a coordinated and proactive security approach by fostering strong partnerships with law enforcement and local authorities.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and oversee the implementation of security policies, risk assessments, and emergency response plans across project locations
  • Monitor and analyze security threats, incidents, and trends, providing proactive recommendations to mitigate risks
  • Maintain strong relationships with law enforcement, local authorities, and security service providers to ensure adequate protection measures
  • Facilitate relationships with local and national stakeholders, including governmental institutions, local organizations, and community leaders, to strengthen security coordination
  • Provide written weekly or bi-weekly updates to the State Department and U.S. Embassy on security developments, risk assessments, and mitigation strategies
  • Lead security training programs for staff, ensuring awareness of safety protocols, travel security, and crisis management
  • Conduct regular security audits and site assessments to identify vulnerabilities and recommend corrective actions
  • Coordinate and oversee incident response, including investigations and reporting procedures
  • Ensure compliance with national security regulations, donor requirements, and internal risk management policies
  • Support operational teams in logistics planning, travel security, and workforce protection strategies

Required Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Security Management, Risk Management, Law Enforcement, or a related field
  • Minimum of eight years of experience in security operations, risk assessment, or crisis management
  • Strong knowledge of national security laws, policies, and procedures
  • Experience managing security for NGOs, international development projects, or government agencies
  • Proven ability to conduct risk assessments, implement security strategies, and lead crisis response initiatives
  • Excellent coordination and communication skills, including the ability to engage with government, security forces, and community stakeholders
  • Fluency in English; working knowledge of local languages, especially Bariba, Dendi, and Fulfulde
