Project Accountants (Two National Positions)- Cote d\'Ivoire

Job Description

Globfield International is seeking two Project Accountants (National Positions) to support the financial management and compliance of a United States Department of Agriculture (USDA), Foreign Agricultural Service (FAS) McGovern-Dole International Food for Education and Child Nutrition Program. These roles will ensure accurate financial reporting, budget tracking, and adherence to donor regulations to facilitate the effective implementation of program activities over a 60-month project duration with an anticipated budget of $25 million.

The McGovern-Dole program’s core objectives include:

·      Improved literacy of school-aged children through enhanced educational materials, teacher training, and improved attendance.

·      Increased use of health, nutrition, and dietary practices by strengthening school feeding programs, food preparation safety, and nutrition education.

·      Strengthened local capacity through engagement with governments, community organizations, and public-private partnerships to ensure sustainability.

Requirements

Key responsibilities:

·      Maintain financial records, ensuring timely and accurate reporting in compliance with USDA/FAS and institutional requirements.

·      Process payments, monitor expenditures, and ensure proper documentation of financial transactions.

·      Assist in preparing financial reports, reconciliations, and budget forecasts for program activities.

·      Ensure compliance with tax regulations, audit requirements, and local financial laws.

·      Support procurement processes by verifying financial records and ensuring adherence to budget allocations.

·      Work closely with the Finance & Operations Director to maintain proper financial controls and mitigate risks.

·      Collaborate with program staff to ensure financial transparency and alignment with project implementation needs.

Qualifications:

·      Bachelor\'s degree in accounting, finance, business administration, or a related field.

·      Minimum of 5 years of experience in financial management, accounting, or grant administration within donor-funded projects.

·      Strong knowledge of financial reporting, bookkeeping, and tax compliance.

·      Familiarity with USDA/FAS financial regulations and donor compliance frameworks is an asset.

·      Experience with budget tracking, expense monitoring, and financial audits.

·      Proficiency in accounting software and financial management systems.

·      Fluency in French is required; proficiency in English is a plus.
